Tapovan Trust was established in 17 March 1991 at SriGanganagar  Rajasthan India with objectives of up-liftment of downtrodden segment of society which includes providing services to disabled children & adults, to create awareness and mainstreaming these into society, to work for the benefit of destitute, divorcees, widows, distressed women and elderly persons etc. It is a voluntary nonprofit registered society.
Tapovan Trust in the beginning, Moved by the plight of the handicapped, particularly for mental retardation children the founder Mr. Mahesh Periwal, a leading social worker started the trust with the help trustees, school for mentally retarded children with the help of 12 children and 2 teachers in a rented building. From the beginning it was very difficult to run the center but later on Tapovan Trust developed a holistic approach for the rehabilitation for the Mentally retarded children which includes early identification, special education, community based rehabilitation and provision for community awareness in SriGanganagar district. more...
